I FUCKING LOVE THIS.

kateordie:

After reading that sex ed article Aimee reblogged earlier, I was inspired to make this! I know I know that someone will call me on my terminology here, but if you can forgive the use of ‘lady,’ instead of ‘vulva,’ maybe you will enjoy it?

DON’T HATE YER PARTS! SEX EDUCATION IS POWER! LOVE YOUR SWEET, SWEET BODY! etc.

Even though there is a LOT of backlash because of the use of the word ‘lady’, the central message here is great. Our genitals are normal! Even if, for some of the population, what we were born with does not jive with who we are and can cause people to approach someone’s identity incorrectly; it is also worth noting that there is no ‘right’ way for them to look.

Well, outside of things like blue waffle or whatever…but that’s getting into nasty medical problem territory…

Alright, this is pretty much how I feel. I’m going to leave this here and get rid of the rest, because I would like people to just enjoy the art before getting involved in the anger. The piece was done out of wanting people to love themselves, to accept themselves and their weird bodies, and I’m sorry if ‘lady’ makes you feel excluded! I really did struggle with what to write. I know more than a few male-identified persons who happen to have vajazzles, so to them, je m’excuse. I can’t please everyone. Lashing out at me, throwing ‘fuck you’ and ‘go kill yourself’ at me helps exactly nobody.

Let’s all just maybe appreciate that I drew 15 different vulvas and it was a neat drawing exercise! Those things are damn complicated.
